The formula

fee = 0.07 × contracts × price × (1 − price), rounded up to the cent, per fill. The p × (1 − p) term is why the fee is largest at 50¢ and shrinks toward zero at both ends: a contract at 95¢ costs 0.07 × 0.95 × 0.05 ≈ 0.33¢ in fees.

Some series set their own rate; ArbMonster prices each trade with the series schedule it is on. Maker orders (resting limit orders filled by someone else) are free on most series.

Frequently asked questions

What are Kalshi's fees?

A taker fee of 7% × contracts × price × (1 − price) on most series, charged when your order fills against resting liquidity and rounded up to the next cent. Makers pay nothing on most series and about a quarter of the taker rate on a few. There are no fees on deposits, withdrawals or settlement.

How much is the Kalshi fee at 50 cents?

0.07 × 0.5 × 0.5 = 1.75¢ per contract — the maximum. 100 contracts at 50¢ cost $50 and the fee is $1.75, or 3.5% of the stake. At 10¢ the same 100 contracts cost $10 with a 63¢ fee, which is 6.3% of the (smaller) stake.

Are Kalshi fees charged on winnings?

No. The fee is charged on the trade when it fills, based on the contract price, regardless of how the market resolves. Losing positions paid the same fee as winning ones.

How does the fee change arbitrage math?

A Kalshi↔Polymarket gap must exceed both venues' fees before anything is left. Near 50¢ that is roughly 1.75¢ on the Kalshi side plus 1–1.75¢ on Polymarket per contract, so a 3–4¢ visible gap is the floor. ArbMonster subtracts the exact fee for every card.
